BEACHES

PATARA BEACH

A day trip to Patara, a few miles farther west from Kalkan, offers the chance to combine a visit to ancient Roman ruins as well as a beautiful white sandy beach with stunning sunsets.  Once an important Lycian port town, legend has it, that Patara is the birthplace of Apollo and widely recognised as the birthplace of St. Nicholas.

Horseback riding for riders of all ages and capabilities is available for rides along the 22 kilometres of this heritage beach, a breeding ground for turtles.

Patara is Turkey's longest sandy beach.

KAPUTAS BEACH

If you're looking for sandy shores, this breath-taking beach is only a few kms from Kalkan.

A lovely sandy swimming cove nestled at the foot of a striking mountain gorge, about a 15 minute drive from The Boat House.

This is the beach often pictured in travel brochures for Turkey.
